TN transport officials are having good reasoning power than IT professionals!

The rise of oil prices has brought much complexity to the woes of the common man who make their living with the basic salary. I don't have any idea or knowledge to share their views or problems they are currently facing related to the rise in oil prices. But one unsolved and misunderstanding between the passengers and the ticket conductor, I like to highlight now. As a regular week end traveler, I see much of the passengers from downside of the income are not happy with the recent and frequent hike in the bus tickets for the same distance.

Much of the people are aware about the difference between Express busses and the ordinary one, apart from the semi deluxe and deluxe carriages of transportation and most of them prefer the Express one which moves faster with non-stop service. Every thing was working fine until the transportation department started reasoning for all the blunders they make!

I regularly used to traveler from Bangalore to Vellore via Hosur and mostly I used to travel in 303 Express busses which run beyond my native to its final destination, Chennai. Apart from these so called express busses of long distances, ordinary route busses ply up and down from Vellore to Hosur. Before the up-gradation of the National Highway 46, the travelling time between Vellore-Hosur was 4 hours journey for around 170 km, with a 15 minutes break on the road side motels. The timings of the buses were strictly monitored for this ordinary kind of route busses, whether the driver drives the bus at higher or slower speed, but the destination should be reached on time!

With the up-gradation of the NH-46, the time was reduced to 3 hours and 15 minutes for 303 Express busses and 3 hours and 30 minutes for ordinary busses. Normally, during week end, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays people return home from work place like Bangalore / Hosur and felt happy to travel home with reduced journey time in what ever the bus they board for their destination.

After a good analyzed experience and choice of the people's taste to travel by bus than train between Chennai – Bangalore, the transportation department have increased the frequency with a mere percentage but all the busses were labeled expresses with higher fares. But, these ordinary kind of bus still runs in the same routes with all the stops unlike the express buses which goes non-stop from the point to point.

What irritates the people to fight with the ticket conductor is that unknown to the passengers or without public notices, the ordinary kind of busses were made express bus to extract higher fares by reasoning the rise on oil prices with the same ordinary routes which is taking a head-ache of 4 hours and 15 minutes to reach the destination.
